The word “Stadia” is
- The plural of “stadium”. (But you run the risk of people say “Huh?” or thinking that you are pretentious! The word “stadiums” is not only accepted now but is much more common)
- e.g. The Maracanã (in Rio de Janeiro), Wembley (in London) and Lambeau Field (in Green Bay) are three of the world’s most illustrious stadia.
- The plural of “stadion”, which was a unit of distance used in the ancient world. There were a slew of differently sized stadia which were about 200 yds (plus or minus quite a lot)
