Google Stadia is the first early access video game console

Not a huge Google fan, but it seems like a big portion of the Google graveyard is just old generation stuff that Google refreshed with new apps, products, or models. https://killedbygoogle.com/ For example, it lists the Chromebook Pixel, but that device wasn’t killed, it was succeeded by the...

Google Stadia is the first early access video game console

Psnow beta was awesome. Full service for free during beta period which was like a year iirc. Catalog wasn't nearly as large but was still cool to be a part of.

Side note, if *any* Chrome client works does that mean I could use my phone (not a Pixel) long before it's officially supported by just running it on Chrome?

    Google Stadia Review Megathread

In his defense the phone controller clip looks pretty goofy and unwieldy whereas a Switch is not that far off from a tablet or laptop. I don't think I can imagine attaching a controller to my phone with some contraption in a Starbucks either

    Google Stadia Review Megathread

Which is funny because many comments from reviewers in SF are saying it feels off so I can't even imagine how bad it will be for people further away, with much worse connections than these reviewers have while the servers are being flooded by people once it opens to the public.

It's Google, they will quietly cancel it a few years later.

Knowing Googles track record, it will probably end up like the Google glasses.

    Google Stadia Review Mega Thread.

The only cloud gaming I want is as an extension of a service I already have. Something like GeforceNow for my Steam games or xCloud for my Xbox games.

Having played Google Stadia for 5 hours today I can say that it simply works.

The idea of being a fan or part of a fanbase is honestly upsetting to imagine. Enjoy things you like. Dont make it part of you.. jesus man its a shitty console

[ News ] Final Fantasy XV releases for Google Stadia with additional content

I'm not that pressed about the exclusive content. As someone who lusted after the Final Fantasy X-2 International content for years (exclusive combat outfits, map locations/stories and gorgeous exclusive music), until they finally brought it to the HD version of the game, this is a historical...

Personal experience with Google Stadia (Tested via Ethernet and Wifi, PC and Chromecast and at 3 different internet speeds).

XCloud is mobile device only, which is a pretty massive difference regardless how well either service works.

Depends on what your definition for 'cream of the crop' is. In the Netherlands, 70 mbit is lower than the average and we have no data caps. So an average user here would have a good time. After some googling I found that the USA's average speed is about 85 mbit, but Data caps are obviously...

Cool! This was also one of the applications that seemed interesting to me. Obviously not everyone has access to unlimited mobile internet, but some Hotel internet is also sufficient to play.

Google Stadia's $10/Month "4K" option is streaming games rendered at 1080p

I can't see a reason why anyone would choose Stadia over virtually any alternative. Not many of us can. I spent a ton of time in product development, both engineering and product management (marketing) for big companies. People of all disciplines get tunnel vision when the innovation in...

Google Stadia's $10/Month "4K" option is streaming games rendered at 1080p

This, imagine latency in single player game... and then extra layer of delay for anything in MP... just, NO.

The Price of Google Stadia vs Competitors

This goes for all online games, though and is a very specific issue. I understand that you worry about the stability of your internet connection so you would rather buy a console, that makes sense for offline games in your case but you also seem to making a case that it makes more sense to buy...

The Price of Google Stadia vs Competitors

I hope so too and I hope they introduce and annual price or something before the 3 months from the Founders Edition expires. Then, all being well, I would more than likely buy into 12 more months of Pro.

The Price of Google Stadia vs Competitors

You are right, but you don't pay $10 just to play online for consoles. They do give you 1-3 games each month. The selection is often varied too, so even if you don't like the games this month, maybe next month there will be something you might like.

Hey Google! take my Gaming Data and sell it...as long as I get ads to games/accessories I like

There are adverts all over Xbox, even with Gold and GamePass. I expect nothing different from Stadia. The Pro subscription does not feature any reduction in adverts, so I would also not expect it to differ from Base.
